Women CAR buyers are on Focus

When Mrs Suzanna Briere  Dadbhoy Navroji Tata ,a french women,drove a car in India in 1905 ,she became the first women in india to drive a car and that was news.

When a housewife residing in FortKochi in Kerala,hold license to drive more than  8 categories of license including crane,fork lift etc and drove a  Semi Trailer in the roads at Kochi,in 2015,it was also a news.

In Between these two ends lot of women drivers are holding steering for their own needs as well as as driver of transport vehicles like Route bus,Taxis and they are not in news.

Because women drivers are now a common phenomena india.

Women use vehicles for their on purpose and also as bread winner of the family

Women Car buyers are vital in the future of car marker in India.

The Market  Share of the women Purchasers are increased up to  10 to 12 % in the Indian market and  Car manufactures are competing to capture the trend.

Recent Studies shows that women car owners tends to buy bigger and powerful cars subject to the financial capacity. The big and power ful vehicle, according to the study provide them  Safety ,comfort and Luxury while on roads.

The present trends visible on the road is also challenging. Women drivers occupy considerable space on road. They love to drive their car in the midst of city traffic as well as cross country ride. Many of them prefer drive away outing at the week end either with family or friends. 

The share of women vehicle owners are also increasing. Women drivers are also catering the house hold needs also .Ten years back the Registered Owner house wife was sitting in the home and the vehicle was driven by her dependents. Now the concept changed. Women dare to take the task of driving at any place. The role of women as a driver, changed dynamically.

Recent study at a Learners License Test center s states that around  30-35 % applicant for new license are women of various age. Even ladies at 60 plus age dare to take license to drive Four Wheeler her own. When asked about this initiative at this age she replied that now a days availability of man power to drive a vehicle at her convenience is very difficult and very costly. That is the reason behind her initiative to own a license.

Social Status is one of the driving factor behind this trend. 

People want to underline her role and status and space in the society in more commanding method by driving her own powerful vehicle, which were  once the area of men. At the same time safety feeling, comfort etc are also plays vital role.

Car makers also started exploiting the market tend by introducing lot of features to existing model or its new variants.  

Automatic Transmission, Rear View cameras, Parking sensors, Parking Assistance, Auto Start, Road Side Assistance, easy Connect with Phone etc are the features developed and included in the present vehicles.

The estimated share of women car owners will be on increasing curve in the oncoming years. Car Makers are in the research to introduce new features to attract women drivers.

When the road safety point is concerned even though the number of women drivers are increased, their involvement in road accident like male driver are very less.

Any way Women buyers are the potential target of the industry and expectation in reduction of road accidents.

Women drivers are changing the existing concept of ride and drive.
