Every Indian License holder is eligible to get International Driving Permit to drive vehicle abroad subject to certain restrictions.
The international Driving Permit ( IDP) is issued as per the convention signed by the contracting countries and is valid in these countries.
These Permits commonly known as International License are issued by the Regional Transport Officer ( R T O ) of the region.
Essential Documents Required are Indian Union Driving License ( Original),Indian Passport, Visa, Flight Ticket, Medical Certificate in Form 1 and Eye Certificate
Few things to be noted :
If your Driving license is not updated in SARATHI portal ,first update the same and submit the online application.
If you obtained License using temporary address ,first apply for Change of Address in your jurisdiction, where you normally resides or working. If you continue in the same address it is sufficient. Application shall be submitted to the RTO of that region.
After endorsement of Change of Address in the License ,again apply for IDP.
If you obtained from Sub RTO then apply to the Concerned RTO for IDP .
Other wise service will not be possible in SARATHI in the RT Office.
Then Remit fee for IDP.
Its better not to remit both fees together.
Procedure for Application

Select Services On Driving License option from the Menu on the left panel Under Service Online heading.

The five stages for filing application is mentioned in the first page.
Select serial No 13,which is the required service.
Click Next and go to the next page.
Enter the DL number and Date of birth of the holder.
Click get details.
If the page display details of your Driving License ,Select State, RTO and enter Pin Code and proceed.
The text box after Date of birth is applicable if you belongs to any category in the drop down menu of the text box, other wise leave it.
Details of applicants driving license will be displayed on the new page. Read the data and click confirm its right.
Next page will display the list of services available in this Driving License. Select the check box of the required service and proceed.
Enter the captcha and click confirm. A receipt will be generated.
Now the Application is ready and submitted online to the selected RTO.
Take the print out of all.
Affix your signature at required places.
Also attach a photo copy of all the documents like, MDL, Passport, Visa, Ticket.
Proceed to the RTO, you selected to submit form, having jurisdiction of the area.
Meet the RTO in person.
Present the Application and all the original documents for verification.
Some times a proficiency test on the concerned vehicle may be preferred by the RTO.
The IDP shall be prepared and issued within 7 Days.
If you are running short of time, explain the situation to the officers and they will help to get it soon before date of journey.
Uploading Documents, Signature, Photo, remittance of required fees etc are to be done before submitting application.
Normally ,considering the urgency the IDP will be dispatched by hand to the applicant.

Service Charge is 150/-
Total Receipt 1150/-
How payment to be made
You can easily submit this application ,upload documents ,remit fees and take print out from you own place .
Other wise visit Either AKSHAYA or E SEVA or Any computer center with scanner and printer.
NOTE : IF YOU HAVE MULTIPLE SERVICE LIKE RENEWAL OF LICENSE OR CHANGE OF ADDRESS ON LICENSE, IT IS BETTER TO MAKE THE PAYMENT FOR THE FIRST SERVICE AND AFTER FINISHING THE SERVICE REMIT FEE SECOND SERVICE AGAIN ON SARATHI. IF ANY MISTAKE OCCUR CHANCES ARE THERE FOR LOSS OF THE FEES REMITTED.
