Now Learners License Is going Online



The Motor Vehicles Department  ( MVD ) Kerala has decided to conduct the Learners Test Online.The decision is taken on the ground of Covid 19  Lock Down.The  Learners Licence as Well as Driving License tests are remain closed from March 21.Lot of people are engaged in this business are facing acute loss of income.At the same time around 4000 to 4200 number of candidates are availing License Related Services each day at different RTO/Sub RTO offices in the state.The tests are computer based objective questions .Those tests have to be attended from the special facility provided in the office known as Computer Aided Learners License service or CALLS.The duration  of the test was 20 minutes.Test procedure starts at 8 30 am and some times lasts up to  1.00 pm.

According to the new online system, which will commence soon,the candidate may appear for the test  from anywhere  online.No need to appear before the Licensing Authorities to attend the objective test.The duration of test will be 30 minutes and the list of question to be answered is also 30 out of 50 .At present it is 20 Minutes long test and pass question is 12.

However certain issues like impersonation of candidate,taking external aid to answer questions etc are existing in the new system.This may be considered as a first step to re start the Driving Test Process.

With the introduction of Online Learners License system,the physical presence of the applicant is required for Test of competence and mandatory awareness classes only.The future of Awareness classes are yet to be decided.
