The toll plaza authorities are forcibly collecting Double Toll if you are entering to the Fast Tag lane and your vehicle is not fitted with at FAST TAG.Why?
Is it justifiable under law?
Double Toll Collection Justified
As per the GSR 298 (E) Dated 15th May 2020,the user of the vehicle not fitted with Fast Tag is entering to the Fast tag lane of the plaza,the user shall pay twice the amount of actual toll fees applicable to the category of vehicle at that particular Toll Collection Point .This is applicable to vehicles fitted with invalid Fast Tag or non functional Fast Tags also.
This is introduced after amending the Rule 6 (3) of National Highways Fees( Determination of rates and collection ) Rules 2008.
As per this rule collection of Double fees at Toll booths are justified.TheNon fast Tag fitted vehicles at Fast Tag Counters.This will make the vehicle movement speedy at the palzas.
