Get your Temporary Registration online

Now Temporary Registration of Vehicles are Online only.
Submission of application through VAHAN portal  is the duty of the  vehicle Dealer.The dealer shall not deliver the vehicle without obtaining Temporary Registration Mark .Documents are to be uploaded by the dealer.Required Documents are :
  • Application in Form 20
  • Sales certificate in Form 21
  • Road worthiness certificate in Form 22
  • Valid insurance certificate
  • Proof of address
  • Copy of PAN card of Form 60 and Form 61  Whichever is applicable
  • Inspection Certificate by the dealer to make sure the existence of the vehicle.
  • Fees 
  • Tax

The Temporary Registration Certificates as well as number could be printed from the VAHAN site using the OTP number of the Customer.Normal Processing time at RTO is one day.

For Permanent  Registration Following Documents are required
  • Application in Form 20  (Already submitted for temporary reg)
  • Sales certificate in Form 21 ((Already submitted for temporary registration 0
  • Road worthiness certificate in Form 22 from the manufacturers   (Already submitted)(Form 22A from the Body builder in case of built body)
  • Valid insurance certificate(Already submitted for temporary registration)
  • Proof of address (Already submitted for temporary registration )
  • E tax Receipt  ( Dealer will pay the amount  on behalf of purchaser)
  • E fees  Receipt For Registration of the vehicle ( Dealer  will pay on be half of purchaser)
  • Copy of PAN card of Form 60 and Form 61 (as applicable)*
  • Dealer and manufacturer invoice*
  • Passport size photographs*
  • Proof of Date of Birth*
  • Chassis & Engine Pencil Print
Documents once uploaded need not be  upload again

Steps for Permanent Registration

  • Get the Print out of  the  Temporary Reg Certificate and the Form 20 ,Which is the inspection certificate and the Disclaimer Form.
  • Get a print out of E tax Receipt
  • Better to Carry all the documents  uploaded to prove your address,identity and age (only required in case of any clarification needed , otherwise not required
  • Inspection time  10 30 am to 12 30 pm .
  • Better appear in person if possible
Collection of  any Additional Fees , Service Charges and Handling charges are forbidden

The legal  fees payable for registration of  a vehicles are ;
  1. For issuance of Temporary registration
  2. For permanent Registration
  3. Road safety Cess
  4. Road Tax as applicable
All the fees will be  paid online by the Dealer of the Vehicle.

No other payment is required for registration of vehicles.All payment shall generate separate receipts .Hence the purchaser is advised to verify the actual amount paid as shown in the receipt.All payments other without receipts are forbidden.

Modification Due  to Covid 19
Applicant should obtain a E token  appointment for the particular day for registration.Try to appear on the particualr day it self.It is very difficult to obtain E token for same vehicle another day.
