Glad News for those purchased BS IV vehicles and were not able to register them before 31/03/2020.The Honbl Supreme Court gave a direction to register those vehicles.However vehicles granted with Temporary registration before 31/03/2020 alone are allowed under the present direction.This benefit is not applicable for vehicles not sold before 31/03/2020.
Due to the implementation of BS VI stage through out the country Government of India gave permission to register BS IV vehicles up to 31/03/2020 only.The New Emission Norms came into force wef 01/04/2020.In between total lock down was effected due to COVID 19 wide spread.Lot of vehicle purchased and obtained temporary registration from RTO authorities were prevented from obtaining permanent registration Certificates due to various reason resulted due to the Lock Down.
As per the available data Seven Lakhs motor cycles , 15000 passenger cars and 12000 Commercial Vehicles are not registered.Most affected parties are the Goods vehicle for whom body construction was delayed due to wide spread of Corona pandemic.
The Supreme Court Granted few instances for completion of registration of such vehicles which are prevented by various reason from obtaining registration were kept idle for long time.Good number of vehicles,almost all the Non transport Vehicles were obtained registration at that time .
Still good number of vehicles are kept idle for want of permanent registration by the RTO authorities.Goods Vehicles delayed for completion of body construction are also in the number.The present direction is a relief for those vehicle owners.
