The Registration Process is very Simple now
With the introduction of VAHAN software,lot of procedural changes have been introduced.

Stage I : Purchase of Your Vehicle
When you decided to purchase a new vehicle obiviously you will enter to an oral or written agreement with the dealer.After making the payment as per invoice ,the vehicle will be delivered to you in papers.Actual Delivery take place after certain formailites.
Stage II : Temeprory Registration
At present temperory Registration is mandtory for all vehicles sold by a dealer.It is the duty of the dealer to obtain a Temperory Registration and Mark from the concerned Registering Authority ,where the purchaser intends to register the vehicle.All applications for Temperory Registration shall be ONLINE
Stage III : Address Proof to be produced
The purchaser must produce the UID card or sufficent Adress Prroof ( Eletoral Card) before the dealer to prepare the necessary data to submit before the Registering Authority.Its mandtory to produce the PAN details also while making purchase of vehicles.
Stage IV : Dealer Submit Data in VAHAN portal
After filling the necessary data about the purchaser ,the dealer submit the data in the VAHAN portal.Data about the vehicle features are already available in the VAHAN portal Submitted by the Manufacture of the Vehicle.Also remit the Fees and Tax Due in the State.
Stage V : Issue of Temperory Registration
The Registering Authority,to whom the application submitted online through VAHAN,retreive the data and verify as well approve the temperory Registration Certificate.If the Data submitted is mismatching or suspicious or diffrence inpayament of tax noticed,the authority will revert back the appication for correction.
Stage VI : Printing of Temperory Registration Certificate
It can be done by accessing the VAHAN portal .No vehicle without remitting TAX and obtaining Temperoty Registration can not be delivered to the purchaser.
Time Required for Issue of Temperory Registration : Normally temperory Registrations are cleared by the RTO/JRTOs by the same day or on the next day.Due to the half attendance at office due to Covid 19 has delayed the process ,little.
