The Motor Vehicles Amendement Bill ,lapsed in the previous parliament,even after passing in the Lok Sabha will be reintroduced in the present Loksabha shortly.Sri Nithin Gadkari,honble Union Minister has stated that the goverment will try to introduce the bill in the on coming session of parliament if the cabinet note is approved .
According to the Honble Minister the bill proposes hefty fines and penalties for traffic offenders.In addition to the fines several reforms are suggested in the Transportation Sector.
The bill was introduced in the previous parliament and cleared by the Loksabha.But in Raja Sabha it was referred to the expert panel and the panel held several discussion and suggested several reforms in the original bill.However the it was inconclusive and the bill lapased.
This time clearing of the bill in both Laoksabha and aRajya sabha is possible with the majority enjoyed by the ruling party in the Loksabha at present and in the Rajya sabha in the nerar furure.However the bill contain several provisons for total privatisation of the transport Sector.The Public Transport Undertakings and Statutory departments of the Goverement are set to face hardships.
